Lloyd Carpenter Griscom

Lloyd Carpenter Griscom was an American diplomat.

The son of Clement Griscom and Frances Canby Biddle , Lloyd Griscom was born on November 4, 1872 at Riverton, New Jersey. He graduated in 1891 from the law department of University of Pennsylvania and continued his legal studies at the New York Law School. In 18931894 Griscom served in the United Kingdom as secretary to Ambassador Thomas Bayard in 1897 he was deputy district attorney of New York and during the SpanishAmerican War he served as captain and assistant quartermaster.
